INTRODUCTION In this game, you, as the monkey, must collect all the sacred bananas that the evil monkey Yeknom has stolen, in 7 stages of pure fun and excitement. As you find enough bananas, you progress in the game, going to the next level. Are you ready ? So, lets play ! It's BANANA TIME! 2. HOW 2.1 TO INSTALL AND RUN You have probably downloaded this game from some BBS or the gamez section of the Andre Creations Home Page, and uncompressed it (Otherwise you would not be reading this file, anyway). Now, your directory structure should look as following: GFX\ SOUNDS\ If it doesn't, you forget to uncompress the game with the -d option. Try uncompressing it again with the -d option. If it does look like that, you are supposed to have a file called BANANA.EXE on the same directory of this file. To run the game, just run it by typing BANANA in the DOS prompt (or the Windows 95 DOS Box). 2.1.1 HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS If you are having problems with this game, check if your hardware meets the minimum Hardware Requirements: CPU:386 (486 recommended) RAM:600k of FREE conventional memory, 2MB XMS SOUND: Sound Blaster Pro or compatible sound card VIDEO: VGA If it does meet and you are still having problems, please contact the author (see " Contacting The Author"), sending together with your message a description of the problem and the FULL configuration of your computer. If it doesn't meet it, I am really sorry. By the way, its time for you to upgrade your computer. 2.2 TO PLAY Playing Banana Quest is really very simple: all you have to do is to walk from one side to the other of the screen, catching as many bananas you can. When a number of bananas has already fallen, you'll pass or not to the next level, depending on how many bananas you got. You may also pick up some green bonus balls that fall sometimes. They may give you more speed or increase your score. This game can be played using the Keyboard or a Joystick. If you choose Joystick in the Configure menu, a quick Joystick calibration will happen and you are ready to play. 2.2.1 KEY TABLE The following keys can be pressed during the game to do the following actions: Key Action Right Moves the monkey right Left Moves the monkey left F1 Turn sound off F2 Turn sound on J Turns Joystick mode on (note: you must have calibrated your Joystick before) K Turns Keyboard mode on P Pauses the game. Press ENTER to resume playing Of course, there are some nice cheat keys, but those you must discover by yourself :). 3.
